Entertainment Alternatives in Kansas City MO

With over 200 fountains to view, Kansas City has many options for relaxed entertainment. The city holds 10 art galleries, including the Belger Arts Center, and 12 museums, including the American Jazz Museum, and the Liberty Memorial: a 217 foot tower that stands as a memorial to the first World War, with two large sphynx sculptures at its base and museums under and around its tower, including the National World War I Museum.


Major events in the city include the Kansas City Irish Fest, a celebration of Celtic culture, and the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade - One of the largest St. Patrick's Day parades in the United States. Kansas City Zoo and IMAX Theatre in Swope Park are also sure to entertain, and if that doesn't do it, the World Of Fun amusement park and attached Oceans Of Fun water park are sure to.


Kansas City has many sports teams to cheer on. The Kansas City Royals play Major League Baseball, while the city's other baseball team, the T-Bones, play in the Northern League. The city's American football team, the Chiefs, play a slightly different game than the Arena football team, the Kansas City Brigade. Other sport teams include the Kansas City Wizards on the soccer field, and the Explorers on the tennis courts.
